Arcana-Basics

  • Arcana belongs to the group of crafting professions
  • Maximum level: 200
  • With Arcana you can process plants, mushrooms, particles and essences collected through harvesting into potions and coatings.
  • In order not to have to buy the materials for this profession at the trading post, it is advisable to skill the harvesting profession at the same time.
  • With arcana you can make magic weapons like staffs and fist weapons
  • Production of essences for atonement orbs (needed for expeditions)

Arcana 1-200

For each item you craft you get experience. For items that are available from Skill Level 0, you’ll get significantly fewer experience points compared to an item that is unlocked at Level 150. Theoretically you can increase your Skill Level with every item. But beware: The cheapest material is not always the cheapest solution!

Basically, I think that you can level up much faster by making weapons, because you need ores, wood and leather for the most part. For weapons you get significantly more experience. Alternatively, you can also improve your level via potions like mana and health.

It is impossible to say which potion is the cheapest to produce on your server, as stocks and demand differ from server to server.

Level 1-50: Iron Weapons – Arcane Repository Tier II

I would make a mixture of all three weapons, since we also want to sell them again at the trading post.
As you can see, you can choose the perk (if you already have any Special Resources). Without a choice, the item has a small change on getting a random perk.

Once you select a perk, you can use Azoth (which you get through quests, enemies, and professions) to increase the chance of a socket. If you just add Azoth, you have a high chance to get a random perk (even if you don’t own the Special Resource for it). More Information about Perks and Azoth later on. But if you have enough Azoth, I recommend using it for Crafting, because the higher the Tier of your Weapon (Common, Uncommon, Rare, etc), the more they are worth at the trading post.

Tip: Of course, you can also make potions like the Common Potion of Health if you can get these materials yourself through harvesting or find them cheaply at the trading post.

Level 51-100 Steel Weapons – Arcane Repository Tier III

As soon as you reach level 50, you can create the next better weapons from steel. However, in order to build them, the settlement’s Arcane Repository must have at least Tier 3. As with the iron weapons, you can use Special Resources for perks and Azoth for better chances to get perks.

101-150 Starmetal Weapons – Arcane Repository Tier IV

From this point on it will be much more expensive to produce if you buy your materials at the trading post. The advantage of weapon production is that these materials are available in larger quantities compared to potions and essences.

For potions and essences you need some rare materials which are much rarer. With the fire staff, life staff and the ice gauntlets made of Starmetal, you first have the chance to get additional Attributes, a Perk and a Gem Slot.

If you do not add an effect or Azoth during crafting, the quality level will remain Common. With Azoth, you have a very high chance of getting a Rare quality level.

151-200 Orichalcum Weapons – Arcane Repository Tier V

For the production of the rank 5 staffs you need one of the most expensive orichalcum ore ingots in the game.
Orichalcum Ore is the rarest ore which you will find more often in high level areas in the north of the map. With a Mining Level of 150 you can mine your own Orichalcum Ore.

With the Fire Staff, Life Staff, and Ice Gauntlets from Orichalcum, you have a chance at additional attributes, a Gem Slot and two Perks. If you don’t add Azoth to your craft, the quality of the item will remain Common. With Azoth added, you have a high chance of getting an Epic quality Item.

Perks and Special Resources

Effects are random in low chance crafting unless you add a special raw material.

By default, you always have a small chance of an effect, this chance can be increased by Azoth. With an effect the quality of the item changes.

With these special resources you can determine attributes like strength, dexterity, buffs against NPCs, etc. You can buy these effects from other players at the trading post or collect them yourself from enemies or chests.

If you have Azoth, I recommend you use it for crafting, because the higher the quality level (Common, Untypical, Rare, etc.) the more valuable the armor is at the trading post.

Increase chances for Perks with Azoth

Azoth is a special resource on Aeternum because it can be obtained and used in many ways. You will be rewarded with Azoth for certain tasks or you can mine it from nature with the right effect.

It is used for fast travel through Aeternum but also for crafting items.
By default, most items have only a low chance of gaining attributes, effects, and gem slots. With the addition of Azoth, they have a high chance.

You should therefore always use Azoth when crafting if possible, as your item will become much more valuable and efficient with effects and sockets.

When you use better materials to craft items, the armor value increases and you can use more Azoth.

The more effects you have on your item, the higher its quality level (Common, Untypical, Rare, etc.) will be.

Gear Score – Primary and Secondary Materials

There is also the possibility to use more expensive materials for the production. For example, if you don’t have rough leather, but coarse leather, you can click on the leather and remove the checkmark from the “Owned Items” box.
Now you can see which materials you can use.

The rank and rarity of the primary material determines the rank as well as the armor value of the manufactured item. For example, if you use an atypical material instead of a common one, the item becomes at least atypical.

The rank and rarity of the secondary materials affect the Gear Score of the crafted item. As mentioned above, a higher value allows you to use more Azoth.
